Christmas Treats with Grammy and a Tooth

Grammy came over on Friday, and we made sugar cookies and fudge.

Hayden and Cole love projects, and this was no different. There were way too many sprinkles, as usual. We were all on a sugar high that night, for sure! It's fun being close enough to do these fun things with Grammy!

 

On a side note, Hayden lost her first tooth last week. She went to the dentist about a month ago. He said he could see her permanent teeth and that she would probably start losing teeth in about a year. Then Hayden knocked her tooth on something and got a string from a blanket wrapped on it. Then it was loose. She was so excited. She spent a couple days wiggling it like crazy, then one night she just pulled it out. Obviously, she was super excited to get that tooth out. She put it in her windowsill for the tooth fairy (she didn't want it under her pillow). Cole wanted to know what color clothes the tooth fairy wears. Luckily, the tooth fairy left a note with Hayden's dollar. The note congratulated Hayden and told her to let Cole know she wears purple clothes!!

Some Christmas Fun

The kids and I made a Christmas Time Bucket list. The list included "visit a live nativity." We heard about a great one and decided to go. Brogan was over that day so we took him with us. Their faces explain it all. They were hyped up, and the line was mega, mega, mega..... LONG! We were in line, not even the real line, for 45 minutes. Then we got to the actual line, which was about 3 times as long as what we just waited in. Ryan and I were not up to waiting another 2 hours, so we bribed the kids and went to get ice cream instead!

 I talked to my mom later that night, and she and her Relief Society had actually been there, too. They did wait in line for 2 hours and ended up leaving, because the line was never ending!

Maybe next year.....

 

Another thing on our list was The Festival of Trees. Ryan and I had never been, but had heard great things. It was a lot of fun. One of Cole's favorites was the Cars tree.

One of Hayden's favorites was the Rapunzel tree. I thought the kids would love it, but honestly, they weren't really in to it and wanted to leave. Their real favorite part was the end, when we got treats from the Sweet Shoppe, and went home! Oh well, I enjoyed it!

Thanksgiving

 

Anika, Brynli, Lochlan, Brogan, Hayden, Cole, Celtin

This was our first real holiday in Utah in the past 5 years. We spent the morning in our pajamas watching the Macy's Day Parade (which I love). Then we had dinner at Adam and Shylo's with them, my parents, and Sean and Brittany. Dinner was so good, and our pies turned out pretty well, too.

After dinner the kids ran wild and the adults played games. It was so fun!

Later that night, Ryan took the kids to his parent's house while Brittany and I saw Breaking Dawn 2. Yeah, we're cheesey, but it was fun.

Overall, it was a relaxing, fun, great day!

We are so blessed and thankful to our Heavenly Father for all He has given us!

Pizza Hut Field Trip

On November 7th, Cole had his first field trip, and he was so excited.

We went to Pizza Hut, and each of the kids got to make their own pizza. It was fun to see how excited the kids were. They loved it!

It was kind of hard waiting "so long" for the pizzas to be done.

About 1 1/2 months ago, Brooklyn started rice cereal.

She tried it....

but didn't love it. She tolerates it but isn't really a fan.

Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween this year.

It started off with Ryan's work party the Friday before. Hayden was at a field trip so we took Cole and Brooklyn. There was a big pizza lunch, candy, face painting, balloon animals...it was lots of fun.

After the party, we went home and picked up Hayden. Then we went to Grandpa Woodland's work party, where the kids got a ton of candy!

Spiderman, A Bee, and A Skunk

On Halloween we went to Adam and Shylo's. The kids played the donut game. Hayden refused to play, and Cole tried his hardest but really struggled ;)

Then we headed out trick or treating!

TOFW

My mom and I had the great opportunity to go to Time Out for Women last weekend. It was held at the Salt Palace downtown. It was Friday night and all day Saturday. I'm blessed to have a wonderful husband that doesn't even bat an eye, when I go out for some "me time" and leave him with the kids and a list of chores!

We had such a great time. There were wonderful speakers like- Sherri Dew, John Bytheway, and Our Best Bites ladies. The musical performers were Mercy River and Jenny Oaks Baker. Jenny Oaks Baker has become one of my favorites. I bought her Disney CD and the kids and I love it!

It was so great to spend time with my mom and enjoy some uplifting music and messages.

This was my second TOFW and I can't wait to go again next year!

4 months and 3 years

I took Brooklyn in for her 4 month check up on October 17th. 

Her stats were:

weight-12 lbs 3oz- 16 %tile

Height- 25.5 in- 88%tile

head- 40.4 cm- 31 %tile

She is healthy, but little bitty. We're afraid she might not be eating enough. The doctor wasn't super concerned because she has gained weight, so he wants us just to wait until her 6 month appointment and check again. We will be starting cereal soon to see if that helps.

Brooklyn started rolling over at 4months and 1 day old. She rolls from her back to her stomach, and then screams, because she's stuck. That's a fun game we play several times a day ;) She also growls, although not as much as she used to.

She is such a smiley happy baby, who brings so much joy to our family. It's fun to see her uncles (and everyone else) taking turns, anxiously waiting to hold her.

How can you not love that face?!

These are Cole's preschool class pictures he had taken a few weeks ago. Such a handsome boy.

He had his 3 year check up, when I took Brooklyn in.

His stats are:

weight- 32.2 lbs- 44 %tile

height- 40.1 in- 91 %tile

He's healthy, and still tall and skinny!

He has turned in to somewhat of a stink bug! We didn't really have terrible twos with him, but he's making up for it now. He can be so sweet and cute, and then he can be so ornery and difficult! Luckily, his cuteness outweighs the difficult, and he really keeps us laughing.

A couple of things he says that make us laugh every time-

Cornbellys

We went with Heidi and Logan to Cornbellys and had a great time.

It's such a fun place. The kids got to dress up,

Race,

climb hay bales, bounce in a bunch of bounce houses. go in the corn maze, go on a train ride, go down a huge slide on a corn sack (my personal fav), and much more. 

Hayden actually went back to Cornbellys for her first field trip last week. Grammy chaperoned and they had fun, and even got to bring home a little pumpkin. So, we enjoyed Cornbellys this year, for sure!

Projects

There have been lots of projects going on at the house. One of which was pouring concrete.

 The kids each got to put their hands in. I didn't get the camera out in time to snap Cole's picture, but you can tell by the concern about his hand in the above picture, that he did it.

 Even Brooklyn got in on the action, and almost gave us a face print.

Look at those sweet little hands.

A tree was also planted in the front yard. The kids were super excited to see just how deep the hole was!

There has also been lots of work being done on the basement. Awesome!

Moab

Over fall break, US Synthetic planned a trip to Moab, and we decided to go. 

Balanced Rock-Ryan, Hayden, and Cole are sitting up in the little crevice.

Our first stop was Arches National Park. It was so beautiful!

Look at that Cutie!

It was chilly and rainy with times of sunshine. We even got a little hail, so not perfect weather, but at least it wasn't too super hot.

The kids loved it and we discovered that Hayden is a major hiker. She was in heaven climbing up as high as we would let her.

The next day we went on a hike in Negro Bills Canyon. It leads to an Arch. We hiked in fro 1 1/2 hours and  didn't make it to the bridge, so we decide to head back. I'm glad we did, because we were all starving and ready to be done for the last 30 minutes. We had a great time, even though we didn't make it to the arch. It is was gorgeous, and the kids loved finding tiny lizards and crossing the river several times.

After that hike, we grabbed lunch and then were on our way home. We decided to stop at Dead Horse Point on the way back. It is unbelievable. 

Ryan took this picture while I was in the van. I was freaking out at the height and super steep cliffs, so I can't believe Ryan let Hayden sit on the edge like that! She is clearly not in the fenced observation area!! Ha ha, she lived , so we're good ;)

We fell in love with Moab, and will definitely stay longer than one night next year!

Going on a Witch Hunt

We went on a witch hunt at Gardner Village with Natalie's family. 

We had a lot of fun looking for witches, checking out the boutiques, and enjoying the fall atmosphere.

Brooklyn enjoyed her nap in the stroller, and woke up in time for a group picture.

After all of the witches were found, we went to get our cookies! It was a fun day :)
