MacLeod Family Reunion

Okay, so here is part 2 of our Utah Trip.

For my family reunion, we stayed at a hotel in Park City. Two of my brothers and their families weren't able to make it. We missed them :( It was fun to get together with those who could make it though.

We had so much fun in the pool. Hayden loved it. She is our little swimmer. We played a game of "Colors" and were very impressed by my mom's skills as she dove in to the pool to get someone out.
We spent some time at the park. The kids played "Cousins Bingo" and won some fun prizes. Then we had a game of family kickball which soon turned heated. It was fun but my team lost pretty bad.

We were in Park City over my birthday. That day we went to the Alpine Slides. It was so fun. I couldn't get my car to go fast and Ryan soon caught up to me. He kept telling people that he got stuck behind a slow person, that was me. Sorry Ryan. I really tried to go fast but my car was defective, I guess.

The last day, we went to Hoogle Zoo. It was packed and super super super HOT!! So, we didn't stay a real long time. It was Hayden's first trip to the zoo so it was fun showing her all the animals.
She loved playing with the paper cup. That was probably the highlight of the trip for her. Her favorite animal seemed to be a little fox. We think it was because he looked like a dog and she loves dogs.

Her we are in front of my favorite animal at the zoo...the Giraffes. Hayden liked them too. At one point we went to see the little monkeys. Ryan was holding Hayden face level with one of the monkeys. Hayden was looking pretty intently at it when all of a sudden the monkey jumped right at her and stopped just before hitting the glass. Hayden totally jumped. It really scared her. Needless to say, she held on pretty tightly to Ryan after that.

The reunion turned out to be a lot of fun and I am glad we were able to make it. It was so great to be with so much of the family! Thanks guys :)

Part 3 of our Utah Trip to follow.....

Oh, as a side note...Hayden had her 12 month check up with the pediatrician today. 4 shots and a finger poke. Yes she was screaming hysterically and would not let go of me. Poor girl. She is 19 lbs 15 oz, which is the 25th percentile for weight and 31 1/4 in long, which is 90th percentile for height. So, she is a very tall skinny thing. Got her daddy's genes :)

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY HAYDEN!!

We are finally back from our trip to Utah. It was such a great trip but we were definitely happy to get home. We did so much while we were there so we have a ton of pictures. So, I will divide them up into a few posts. I decided to start with Haydens 1st birthday which was on June 17th.

Ryan's mom wanted to give Hayden her present a little early. She gave her a little baby doll. My parents also gave her a baby doll. She loves to carry them around and feed them a bottle. Hayden was so excited and definitely loves her first babies.

We started the day by taking Hayden to a petting zoo at Gardner Village. She had a lot of fun with the animals but didn't want to get too close to them.
They have pony rides at the petting zoo and we were sure Hayden would love it. So, we got her a ticket. However, when we tried to put her on the pony she freaked out. She was happy to look at it but did not want to touch it at all. Maybe next year.

This is Hayden's birthday cake which I made with the help of my mom and Ashlee. Thanks guys. It turned out so well and was actually pretty fun to make. I didn't get a picture with Ashlee. Which I am so sad about. I will have to remember next time. Thanks for coming up Ash!
We gave Hayden her own big piece of cake. As you can tell, she loved it :) At first she was a little unsure of what to do but once she did, she went to town. She was shoving it in her face and ended up covered in chocolate. Her Uncle Jeff made the comment that he had never seen someone get frosting smeared on the back of their calf. But Hayden did. It was everywhere and she had so much fun.All of the family around came for her party which we had at the Wild West Jordan Park. Hayden got so many fun presents. We really appreciate everyone that came and showed their love to Hayden. Thank you everyone!!

Tomorrow I will start the posts about our family reunions and the rest of our trip. Bye for now

Spaghetti and Birthday Present

So we gave Hayden spaghetti for the first time the other night. She wasn't so sure about it at first but eventually she decided it was fun to play in. Notice in this picture that the food is in the bowl and she is mostly clean.

And here she is covered. The bowl and a few noodles are on the floor. So, as soon as dinner was over, it was time for a bath. How fun! Kids have the sweet life :)

Hayden turns one in 9 days! I can't believe it. We will be in Utah for her birthday so we decided to let her open her present from us today. She refused to pull on the wrapping paper so I ended up opening it for her but she was so excited.
It is the Little People Noah's Ark. I love little people. They're so fun.
She is so impatient. While Ryan was opening it and taking off the millions of wires that hold each piece in place, Hayden was yanking on the thing trying to get it away from him. Finally it was all taken out and Hayden was loving it. Happy Early Birthday Haydie Babe!!

Cute and Funny Face Pictures :)

Little Climber

Hayden has become a little climber. She loves to crawl into things....like her toy box.

She likes to crawl inside and through things....like the bar stools.
It's so funny because she will climb in and then put her hands up on one bar and her feet up on the other.

She also loves to crawl into the cabinets in the kitchen and in the bathroom. (Please ignore the contents of my bathroom cabinet)

Lake Geneva

Lately we have been into picking a place we've never been and going to check it out. So, this weekend we went to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It is about 45 minutes away from us. There is a huge lake that you can boat on and stuff. We also walked down Main Street. There are a bunch of shops with weird knick knack stuff, which I love looking through.
There are also a lot of HUGE houses, like this one. This is the house but what you don't see is the huge green yard that leads out to their own private dock right on the lake. They had two huge boats docked and some fancy furniture out on the dock. I told Ryan that some day I expect a summer home like this....ha ha.
Hayden's favorite part of the trip? Her Pickle! Ryan and I always give her the food that we don't like, so at lunch she got a pickle. She was gnawing on that thing like she was in heaven. When we were ready to leave, Hayden was so upset because she did not want to let go of that dang pickle. She is so funny. She is really our little disposal. She'll eat anything :)
