Sledding

A couple weeks ago we took Hayden sledding. It lasted all of about 10 minutes. The sun was shining but the wind was SO COLD!

We didn't get a picture of Hayden actually on the sled but she loved it. She loved just playing in the snow, too. We were all frozen and I had to take Cole to the car because he was miserable, but Hayden was in heaven. She did not want to leave. Poor girl. With all the snow we get you would think she would have played in it before. Nope this was the first time. I know she's deprived.

Hopefully I'll get the urge to take her out again before the snow all melts!

Toes

Cole boy wore his "tie" to church on Sunday. What a big boy!

And....he found his feet. I love when they start discovering new things. It's such a fun stage.

Hayden's first haircut!

Here are a couple before pictures. Hayden's hair was getting pretty long.


So Aunt Shylo cut her hair on Saturday. She cut off about 3 inches. Hayden didn't care about her hair at all. She just wanted to get down and play.


It turned out really cute. At church the next day, so many people commented on how cute she is and how much older she looks now. I agree. She looks more like a little girl than my little baby. Oh sad.



I went and got my hair cut on Monday and the girl cut it about 1 1/2 inches shorted than I wanted. So, Hayden and I now have matching haircuts! Weird, I know :)

Hungry Man

Here's my little Cole Bear. He is now an eater of real food. Well, somewhat real food.

He's been eating rice and oatmeal cereal. And boy does he eat a lot. We took him to the doctor when he had his ear infection and he weighed 15 lbs 1 oz. Then we started feeding him cereal. 3 weeks later (so on Friday) we took him back in for a check up and he was 16 lbs 3 oz. Yep, he likes his food.

He loves to eat his hands and it's no different while he's eating. I have to pin his hands down with one hand and feed him with the other.

What a cutie :)

2 1/2 years and 4 months old

Hayden and Cole both had their Doctor Checkups about 2 weeks ago. Here are their stats...
Hayden
Weight 30 lbs- 75 %tile
Height 37 in- 75 %tile

I can't believe she's already 2 1/2

She loves playing dress up with her friends

and eating flour whenever I have it out. She also loves her baby brother and is a good big sister, most of the time. He's getting stronger and if she is standing too close to him she sometimes gets a kick. She doesn't like that very much and tells him to go away...

Cole
Weight- 15 lbs 1 oz- 50 %tile (I was so surprised because he seems so heavy)
Height- 25 3/4 in- 75 %tile

He is a little sweetie and learning so much so fast. He reaches for and grabs things. He loves to hold his binky in his mouth and chew on it, smile and laugh. And he started rolling over a few weeks ago!

We're borrowing this Bumbo from and friend and he is so cute hanging out in it. Yes, I know it's pink but he's comfortable with his manhood.


They have both had major colds and ear infections in both ears so it's been a rough couple of weeks for them. But their troopers and I think the worst is behind us. Now it's on to playing in the new year. Hooray!

Christmas and New Year

We had an awesome Christmas this year. On Christmas Eve we kept with our tradition of having Christmas dinner with a big group of friends. While we were gone, the elves dropped off our new pajamas (Ryan just got slippers)


The next morning we opened stockings, had breakfast (the traditional sticky buns) the opened presents. Hayden loved opening presents. She was too busy playing to get a picture with all of her stuff so here's one of her stocking loot.

Then we headed to my brothers and had a yummy ham dinner with all the fixings. The kids got to make gingerbread houses and the adults played games. It was a very fun and relaxing day. It's so fun watching the kids and feeling their excitement.


We headed back to my brother's for New Years. We had more games and food. We celebrated with New York and let the kids bang some pots. A great time was had by all.


So, that is how we ended the year of 2009. It was a great year for us, especially with the addition of Cole to our family. We are looking forward to many more good times this year. Welcome 2010!!

Thanksgiving Trip

I know this is very late, but....
For Thanksgiving we drove down to Texas to visit my brother Nathan and his family. My brother Adam and his family that live by us caravaned down with us.

On the way there we stopped at the St. Louis Arch.

We went up to the top on the tram. This is the teeny tiny tram car we're sitting in. The ride up is only 4 minutes long, and I had to keep reminding myself of that because I was getting majorly claustraphobic. It wasn't too exciting at the top, but it's fun to say I've done it.

While we were in Texas, I didn't take very many pictures. But here are a couple from the zoo. Yes, we went to the zoo the day after Thanksgiving. It was 70 degrees outside. I love Texas in the winter! We stayed with my brother for a few days then headed home. It was so great to see his family and a lot of fun to visit with them.


On the way home, we stopped at Adam-ondi-Ahman, Far West, and Liberty Jail.

We had never been to any of these places so it was a really neat experience. The spirit there is amazing. We didn't get to spend much time so we might have to make that trip again.

We spent the night in a hotel on the way home and Hayden was in heaven. When we walked into our room, she went crazy. She ran from thing to thing telling what there was...."Look towels", "Look a TV", Look a bed." It was hilarious!

We had such a great trip. It was a very long drive but the kids were surprisingly good. We had a very happy Thanksgiving.... Thanks for letting us come and stay Nathan and Michelle!
