2 Months

Cole is 2 months old today. I can't believe it! He went in for his checkup today. Here's his stats...

weight- 12 lbs. 5 oz.- 75%tile
height- 23 3/4 in.- 50%tile

He's getting so big. He is almost 2 whole pounds bigger than Hayden was at this age. I love his little pudge :)

He has been smiling in his sleep since he was born but he smiled when he was awake for the first time last week. It's hard to get a picture of it because he wont do it on cue. This is the best picture I could get. Isn't he so sweet!

I had to post this picture because he always sleeps with his left eye slightly open. So funny

Hayden's Happenings

Here's what Hayden's been up to....

Wearing a hood. If she's wearing a shirt or jacket with a hood. It has to be up. She loves wearing a "hat" as she calls it.

Making nests out of towels for her and Cole.

Making cookies with dad. Notice her adorable apron. Her Aunt Natalie made that for her. I have a matching one and love it!

Sleeping on the floor. She's moved her bedding onto the floor and gone to sleep a few times recently.

Painting with water colors. This is her new favorite pastime. She loves to "paink."

This little girl is very busy and definitely has a mind of her own. Love her:)

Cole's Blessing

Ryan blessed Cole last Sunday at my brother's house. My parents, Ryan's parents, his 2 sisters, and niece were all in town. It was such a great weekend and we appreciate everyone's support on that special day.

Poor Hayden

Last night we went to a birthday party at our friend's house. While we were there, Hayden fell down the un-carpeted stairs. She busted her lip open, chipped one of her teeth a bit, her two front teeth were bleeding and she has a bump on her forehead. This picture really doesn't do it justice. Poor girl. When it happened, and for a while afterward, she was extremely upset. Then she calmed down and has been her bubbly little self, even though it looks like it kills. What a trooper...

One Month Old (2 weeks ago)

Things have been so busy here. Ryan's parents came to visit over labor day weekend. Then my mom came into town and she's still here. We've been to the zoo, a children's museum, downtown....yes we've been busy. But it's been so nice to have her. She's been cooking, cleaning, taking care of kids, anything I need. Thank you so much Mom!! My dad comes into town tonight and Ryan's parents and sisters come on Friday. Busy, Busy!

So, Cole was a month old a week and a half ago. I know I'm behind in my posting but life is crazy with 2 kids...
His stats were
10 lbs 2 oz- 70th %tile
21 1/2 in- 50th %tile

We took him to the doctor again on Friday and he was 10 lbs 8 oz, so he gained 6 oz in 4 days. Yeah, he likes to eat. He has been really upset though. He would scream every second he was awake and only sleep for short periods at night. That's why we took him back to the doctor. They couldn't find anything wrong with him though. He has been doing better today so hopefully that's a sign of things to come.



Hayden is still loving her little brother. Every time I lay him on the floor she has to lay next to him. She doesn't like it when Ryan holds Cole though. She always tells him to give Cole to me. We're all still working on adjusting a little :)

And I had to throw in this picture of Hayden because she's my pretty little Haydie Babe! Isn't she the cutest!

Cole and Hayden

Anika and Celtin each took turns holding Cole. It's so nice having cousins around.

I know this picture is gross. Sorry about that. But it shows the knot in the cord. The nurse took this picture and I just saw it. Crazy knot!


Cole got his first bath at home. He didn't like it so much but Hayden loved it. She brought her stool to the counter and had her washcloth ready to go.


Hayden loves her brother so much and wanted to kiss his little belly.


Hayden is so sweet. I had Cole laying on a blanket on the floor. Hayden brought a bucket of toys over and was taking them out one by one. She would show the toy to Cole and then lay it on his blanket for him. I love it!

You have got to be kidding me

So, yesterday was a fun day.... I found myself thinking "you have got to be kidding me" several times.
On Tuesday night I was eating a frozen tangy taffy and all of a sudden I had a horrible pain in my tooth. The dang candy pulled out my filling. So yesterday I went to the dentist. I get to the dentist and walk in. It's raining and I'm wearing flip flops. Combine that with a super slippery floor and it's bad news. I slipped and fell flat on my back side. I just sat there for a second thinking "of course this is happening right now."
Then the dentist checks my tooth and I don't just need my filling replaced. I need a root canal. What? I have never had a root canal and here I am 5 days after having a baby and I have to deal with this. I ended up with a new dentist and I was there for 3 hours. After all that time she didn't even finish so I have to go back on Monday.
I've vetoed tangy taffy for life! Anyway, there are my complaints for today. Thanks for humoring me....
