Blondie

So, I am now a blond. My friend highlighted my hair yesterday (thanks Keli) and it is now super blond. I am still in shock. It always takes me a few days to get used to new hair styles. Hopefully by Monday I wont feel like crying every time I look in the mirror. If I do, then I might get some brown put back in. Ryan says he likes it but I can never really trust him because he has learned never to tell me I look bad. Anyway, here's to having fun being blond :)

It Passed!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Hayden passed the safety pin on Thursday and is totally fine. Digging through her diaper was definitely not fun, and of course it was at the very bottom under all the nastiness, but I was so happy to find it! In case you're wondering, we did not save the safety pin. Gross!

What's a post without a picture, right. Here's one of Hayden loving being naked :)

A Safety Pin and an X-Ray

So, here's the story. Yesterday I was sitting on the couch sewing a button on one of Ryan's shirts. I had my sewing stuff in a big baggie full of safety pins. I got a phone call and had to run and grab a pen from the other room. When I came back Hayden had dumped out all of the safety pins. I hurried and picked them up. A few minutes later Hayden started chocking. She coughed for a few seconds and then she was totally fine. I wasn't sure if she swallowed one because I thought I had picked them all up. Ryan wanted to take her to the doctor but I kept saying I didn't even know if she really ate one and if she did it would just pass through. Finally today Ryan made me call the doctor and we took her in for her first X-Ray. Sure enough she swallowed a safety pin! I about died when they showed us the x-ray. The pin looks huge! Poor girl! The doctor said she will be fine but man do I feel horrible. The nurse made sure to make a copy of the x-ray for us. At least Hayden will have a good story now. Oh life is crazy sometimes :)

60 Degrees?! Hooray!

It was so gorgeous outside this weekend. It was actually over 60 degrees. So, after General conference (which was so good) we went to the Chain O' Lakes State Park. It was so nice to be outside! We went on a trail for a couple miles. Hayden rode in a backpack carrier on Ryan's back. She tried to climb out a couple times but loved the ride for the most part. We ran into a snake along the trail. Ryan was excited and wanted to show it to Hayden. I wanted to keep moving. Ryan thought it was hilarious that I was scared of it but I am definitely not a snake person and didn't want anything to do with it.
Afterward we went and checked out this place at the park that does horse back riding and pony rides. They had a bunch of horses we were showing to Hayden. Then the worker girl brought over a pony for Hayden to see. She wasn't so sure about the pony. I wasn't really sure about it myself. The girl gave me the reins to hold the pony while she took our picture. It didn't bite me or anything so it turned out alright. They did have a little dachshund that Hayden loved. She wanted to get down and play with it. I tried to get a picture of Hayden with the dog but he was running around like crazy and didn't want to slow down for a picture.

I know, I look horrible in this picture. Please
take into account that I just hiked a couple miles :)

So, with the beautiful weather, our trip to the State Park, and General Conference, we had an awesome weekend.

I had to throw this picture in because this is Hayden's new favorite pastime. Every time I open the dishwasher she sprints over to help. She also learned how to shake her head "No". She doesn't know what it means but thinks it's hilarious. I nod my head "Yes" at her and she shakes her head even more. It's so funny to see everything they learn and how amusing the simplest things are.

Super Sweet Husband!

I had a great day yesterday because I have a super sweet husband. First off, Ryan cleaned the kitchen before he left for work. Then he came home from work for lunch and brought me some tasty pizza. Then a couple hours before he gets off work he sent me a text message that he might be home late from work. I was kind of irritated because he has been working a lot lately. But it turns out he had really left work early and picked up some tulips (my favorite flower). So he came home early and surprised me with flowers! He said he wanted me to know how much he appreciates all I do. What a sweet heart. To top it all off, it was sunny yesterday and we were able to take Hayden out on a walk and enjoy time together as a family. Thanks for a great day Ryan!

Little Friends

I forgot to write about Hayden's friends in the last post. She has some little friends that are all a few weeks apart in age. We get together with them for playgroup once a week and then other times throughout the week. It is so funny when they get together. They follow each other around, tackle each other, crawl over each other, and stare curiously at each other. At the last playgroup one of the girls, Eliza, came up to Hayden and gave her a hug and a kiss. In the process she ended up tackling Hayden and laying on top of her. Hayden was so mad. She hates being cuddled and was not happy to have Eliza hugging her. The moms all just sit and watch chaos ensue. It's pretty funny. The girls have fun and the moms do, too. It is so nice to talk to other adults! Hooray for playgroup! (man, do I sound like a mom or what)

9 Month Check Up

Today was Hayden's 9 month check up. She is nice and healthy, which we are so thankful for. She is 19 lbs and 29 in. That puts her in the 50th percentile. She has 4 teeth now. Two on the top and two on the bottom. We really can't believe that she is 9 months already. Time flies, I guess.
