Anika and Celtin each took turns holding Cole. It's so nice having cousins around.
I know this picture is gross. Sorry about that. But it shows the knot in the cord. The nurse took this picture and I just saw it. Crazy knot!

Cole got his first bath at home. He didn't like it so much but Hayden loved it. She brought her stool to the counter and had her washcloth ready to go.

Hayden loves her brother so much and wanted to kiss his little belly.

Hayden is so sweet. I had Cole laying on a blanket on the floor. Hayden brought a bucket of toys over and was taking them out one by one. She would show the toy to Cole and then lay it on his blanket for him. I love it!
And a couple more pics of our handsome boy!

You have got to be kidding me
So, yesterday was a fun day.... I found myself thinking "you have got to be kidding me" several times.
On Tuesday night I was eating a frozen tangy taffy and all of a sudden I had a horrible pain in my tooth. The dang candy pulled out my filling. So yesterday I went to the dentist. I get to the dentist and walk in. It's raining and I'm wearing flip flops. Combine that with a super slippery floor and it's bad news. I slipped and fell flat on my back side. I just sat there for a second thinking "of course this is happening right now."
Then the dentist checks my tooth and I don't just need my filling replaced. I need a root canal. What? I have never had a root canal and here I am 5 days after having a baby and I have to deal with this. I ended up with a new dentist and I was there for 3 hours. After all that time she didn't even finish so I have to go back on Monday.
I've vetoed tangy taffy for life! Anyway, there are my complaints for today. Thanks for humoring me....

Cole Ryan

Our baby boy is here. We named him Cole Ryan. He was born on Friday at 12:48 pm. He was 8 lbs 5 oz and 20 1/2 in. I am so glad I was induced a week early. He could have been a 9 pounder. Yikes.

Anyway, the induction went well. When we got to the hospital I was still around a 3. They started the pitocin about 7 that morning and nothing happened. They broke my water and my contractions started getting stronger. I got my epideral about 11:30 and I was at a 4. About 20 minutes later I started feeling contractions on my left side again. I called the nurse to let her know and she decided to check me. I was ready to go. It was so crazy going from a 4 to 10 in 20 minutes. Cole was ready to come right then but the doctor was about 20 minutes away. I had to try not to push for 20 minutes. Ryan and the nurse had me looking at the menu ordering lunch to try to distract me. The doctor finally came and I pushed through 3 contractions and he was here. It was crazy because his cord was in a complete knot. He hadn't shown any signs of distress or anything. The doctor couldn't believe it but luckily there were no complications. The nurse took him to weigh him and had to dodge a huge stream of pee. It was great. Boys are definitely different than girls

We came home yesterday and are all doing well. Hayden wasn't so sure about Cole when she first saw him at the hospital. She loves him now. She loves to hold him and get his binky or blanket for him. She is a good big sister. Thanks to Adam and Shylo for keeping her over night for us so Ryan could stay at the hospital.

I forgot how tiny they are. He is such a good baby and we definitely love our little guy. He is a majorly good eater and growing fast so we'll be sure to post new pictures of him soon.

The Big Day
So, I haven't been very good at keeping you all up to date. Mostly because nothings happened....
But I am being induced on Friday, bright and early at 6am. Hooray! Ryan asked me if I'm really ready for a baby. I'm definitely ready to be done being pregnant but it still hasn't honestly hit me that I'm going to actually be bringing home a baby in a few days. I'm sure it will soon enough.
I have to throw in a cute Hayden story. She is so excited for her baby brother to come. The other day she really wanted to play with him. She got a ball and was yelling at my stomach saying "out baby. play ball." Then she got some stickers and stuck them all over my belly and was yelling "out baby. stickers baby. out! out!" She may be a little disappointed when he comes home and doesn't really do anything.
My sister-in-law/friend Shylo and friend Tina threw me a baby shower. It was so great! I'm a slacker and haven't uploaded any of the pictures yet. So, hopefully a very late post about that is still to come.....Thanks for the shower though guys!!
We'll be sure to post pictures and stuff soon after the baby's born....

37 weeks and 3 centimeters
So, I am officially 37 weeks now. I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. It was good news. I am dilated to a 3 and thin. The doctor said the baby could be coming any day now. I double checked to make sure he literally meant any day now and he said yes. So, I pretty much panicked and did a million things after my appointment on Tuesday. Now we're just waiting. It will probably still be 2 weeks until he decides to come but hopefully it's sooner than later. My next appointment is on Tuesday. We'll keep you updated....

Baseball for the Birthday Boy
Happy Birthday Ryan!!
Yesterday was Ryan's birthday. He has now reached the old age of 27. To celebrate, we went up to Milwaukee on Tuesday and went to a Brewers game. We actually got pretty good seats this time. We're usually so far up the players look like little ants. This time we could tell they were people so that's a plus.
Ryan was excited to take Hayden to her very first MLB game. She wasn't quite as excited but with a cup of ice and some popcorn she was actually better than I expected.

The Brewers ended up losing but we're not super big fans so we weren't too heartbroken. We love going to baseball games and had a fun night.
Happy Birthday Ryan!! We love you!!

Utah Trip
We went to Utah at the beginning of July for Ryan's little brother, Jeffrey's, wedding. I didn't get a picture of Jeffrey and Cadence..oops. Congratulations anyway! Hayden was very cute in her new dress and was excited to show it off to everyone. She loves her Uncle Jeff and wanted to dance with him so badly. We discovered her great love of dancing while at the reception. It was a wonderful wedding and we are so happy for Jeff and Cadence.

While we were in Utah, my mom and sister-in-law threw me a baby shower. The realization of how much stuff you need for a new baby is overwhelming, so the shower was so so nice. Thanks to my mom and Brittany and everyone who came!!

I know this picture is sideways but I don't know why and I don't want to take the time to figure it out....
It was a quick trip but we had so much fun with family and friends. It was a great trip.
I had to throw this picture in because it is so cute. My friend Noel gave me a pedicure for my birthday. I have tried to paint Hayden's nails before but she never lets me. When she saw Noel painting my nails, she got excited and wanted hers done too. Afterward, she kept showing anyone who would look and saying "pretty toes'.
