Hayden's Happenings
Last week Hayden learned to twirl in circles. Once she gets started she will keep going and going, usually until she falls down. She also folds her arms now. It is so sweet. We tell her to fold her arms for prayer and she'll do it. They don't usually stay folded for the entire prayer, but occasionally they do. We had the missionaries over for dinner last week and she folded her arms all during the prayer and they were very impressed!!
These are older tricks but haven't made it to the blog yet, so here you go. She loves to find her belly button. She loves to find Mommy's and Daddy's belly button, too. Also, she says "uh oh". She says it about 500 times a day. It really is so fun to see all the new things she learns and to teach her new tricks. As Ryan says "She's better than a dog." (I know it's sideways. Sorry. I can't figure out how to flip it.)

Chicago Air Show
On Friday we took the train downtown to the Chicago Air and Water Show. This was the 50th year they've had it and it was pretty cool. The Blue Angels were flying and they are so amazing.
They fly so close together and do all kinds of tricks. They fly upside down, do loop the loops, fly up super high and then nose dive, etc...
Then some other planes came by. They were all flying so low it was insane. Bill Murray jumped out of one of the planes but we were in the wrong area to see that part. We just hung out on the grass at Navy Pier and enjoyed it. Hayden was oblivious to the planes, even though they are super loud. She had fun running around the park though. Ryan and I love being downtown and the weather was perfect so it was a lot of fun!!

Broken Toe?
Yesterday Ryan was running circles around the island in our kitchen. He was trying to get Hayden to run with him. All of a sudden he fell flat on his face. He had kicked a chair and totally smashed his toe. I didn't know how bad it was so I busted up laughing. Ryan thinks I'm mean because I didn't get up to help and I was laughing but he was laughing too so that gave me permission to laugh, right? I did try to wrap it or put ice on it but he wouldn't let me do anything because it hurt too much. It was so bad! This picture, which Ryan is horrified that I put on the blog, doesn't even do it justice and it got worse as the day went on. It was swollen to about twice it's size and bruised all the way down his foot. Poor Ryan! Hopefully it will be better soon.

Elder Scott
So we had a special conference for church today. Elder Scott was in town and decided to come visit our stake. It was so awesome to have an apostle here to speak directly to us. He talked about how we do so many good things that sometimes we forget about the essential things. He said to right a list of our priorities and then make sure we get those things done. Then if we have time left over to do other good things. He also talked about how important it is to teach our children good values and demonstrated by calling up two teenage girls and asking them questions about what their families do in regards to the gospel. Those poor girls. They had no idea he was going to call them up. If it had been me, I probably would have thrown up. Anyway, it was really great and so wonderful to hear the testimony of an Apostle of God and I am so thankful I had this experience. Also, it made me think of my parents and all their work in teaching me good things. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Hayden's Busy Week
Being a Dare devil
Hiding in the kitchen cupboards
Playing with friends
Putting her head back and laughing.
Walking backwards.
